  The CatSper channel is a special calcium channel in the tail (flagellum) of sperm cells. It plays a crucial role in determining whether a sperm cell can fertilize an egg.<\/p>\n

  With the CatSper test, we check whether this channel is functioning correctly.<\/p>\n

  This is because even if the sperm are normally motile, a defect in the CatSper channel can prevent fertilization.<\/p>\n

  If such a defect is detected, natural fertilization or insemination is unfortunately not possible \u2013 in this case, ICSI treatment is the only option.<\/p>\n

  Since CatSper activity is genetically determined, this test only needs to be performed once.<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
